Message text: Difference on source storage bin cannot be passed on to Inventory Mgmt
The difference that is posted to the <DS:DE.LVS_D0001>source storage bin
</> cannot be reported to Inventory Management. This difference can only
be reported to the R/2 Inventory Management system together with the
source sub-item of the <GL:transfer_order>transfer order</>. Since the
differences on the source storage bin correct the bin inventory, it can
either be transferred as difference to Inventory Management or it is
considered when transferring the actual quantity of the stock to be
reported.
If the difference on the source storage bin is to be reported to
Inventory Management including the source sub-item, check
<DS:SIMG.SIMG_CFMENUOLMLOMMP>Individual processing</> for decentralized
(R/2-R/3) processing.

L3277
- Difference on source storage bin cannot be passed on to Inventory Mgmt ?The SAP error message L3277, which states "Difference on source storage bin cannot be passed on to Inventory Management," typically occurs during inventory management processes, particularly when dealing with stock transfers or adjustments. This error indicates that there is a discrepancy in the stock levels in the source storage bin that cannot be reconciled with the inventory management system.
Causes:
- Stock Discrepancies: There may be a difference between the physical stock in the storage bin and the stock recorded in the system. This can happen due to manual errors, unrecorded stock movements, or incorrect stock counts.
- Transfer Posting Issues: If there are issues during a transfer posting (e.g., moving stock from one bin to another), the system may not be able to reconcile the differences.
- Inventory Count Errors: Errors during a physical inventory count can lead to discrepancies that the system cannot resolve.
- Configuration Issues: Incorrect configuration in the warehouse management or inventory management settings can lead to this error.
Solutions:
- Reconcile Stock Levels: Perform a physical count of the stock in the source storage bin and compare it with the system records. Adjust the stock levels in the system to match the physical count.
- Check Transfer Postings: Review any recent transfer postings related to the storage bin to ensure they were completed correctly. If there were errors, correct them.
- Inventory Adjustments: If discrepancies are found, use the appropriate inventory adjustment transactions (e.g., MI01 for inventory differences) to correct the stock levels in the system.
- Review Configuration: Check the configuration settings in both the Warehouse Management (WM) and Inventory Management (IM) modules to ensure they are set up correctly.
- Consult Logs: Review system logs for any additional error messages or warnings that may provide more context about the issue.
