- Change in WIP(periodic) is 0 but was not 0 last time WIP was calculated ?The SAP error message KJ505 indicates that there is a discrepancy in the Work in Progress (WIP) calculation for a particular period. Specifically, it means that the change in WIP for the current period is zero, but it was not zero in the previous period when WIP was last calculated. This situation can arise due to various reasons, and addressing it typically involves a few steps.
Causes:
- Data Inconsistencies: There may be inconsistencies in the data related to production orders, cost objects, or inventory that affect the WIP calculation.
- Incorrect Configuration: The configuration settings for WIP calculation may not be set up correctly, leading to unexpected results.
- Missing or Incorrect Settlements: If production orders or cost objects have not been settled correctly, it can lead to discrepancies in WIP.
- Changes in Production Orders: If there have been changes to production orders (e.g., status changes, quantity changes) that were not properly accounted for, it can affect WIP.
- Period Closing Issues: If the previous period was not closed properly, it may lead to incorrect WIP calculations in the current period.
Solutions:
- Check Production Orders: Review the production orders and ensure that all relevant data is accurate and up to date. Look for any changes that may not have been reflected in the WIP calculation.
- Review WIP Configuration: Verify the configuration settings for WIP calculation in the controlling module (CO). Ensure that all necessary parameters are set correctly.
- Run WIP Calculation Again: If you suspect that the previous WIP calculation was incorrect, you can re-run the WIP calculation for the previous period to ensure that it reflects the correct values.
- Check Settlements: Ensure that all production orders and cost objects have been settled correctly. If there are any discrepancies, resolve them before running the WIP calculation again.
- Consult Logs and Messages: Check the logs and messages generated during the WIP calculation process for any additional information that may help identify the issue.
- Contact SAP Support: If the issue persists and you cannot identify the cause, consider reaching out to SAP support for further assistance.
