  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

Operating concern &V1& was defined for costing-based or both forms of
analysis. In this case, you must assign the CO-OM costs to value
fields. You can do this by specifying value fields explicitly or by
    specifying a PA transfer structure.
If you explicitly specify value fields, and if account-based CO-PA is
also active, you need to enter a value field for the fixed costs AND a
value field for the variable costs, otherwise the system will only
transfer one of those cost types to account-based CO-PA.

    System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    How to fix this error?

Enter either a PA transfer structure or value fields for the costs.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message KF428 - You have not specified a PA transfer structure or value fields (fxd/var.) ?

The SAP error message KF428, "You have not specified a PA transfer structure or value fields (fxd/var.)", typically occurs in the context of Profitability Analysis (CO-PA) when you are trying to execute a report or transaction that requires a Profitability Analysis (PA) transfer structure or value fields, but these have not been defined or specified.

    Cause:

    1. Missing PA Transfer Structure: The system requires a PA transfer structure to be defined for the report or transaction you are trying to execute. This structure is necessary for the system to know how to transfer data to CO-PA.

    2. Undefined Value Fields: The error may also arise if the value fields (fixed or variable) that are needed for the analysis have not been specified. Value fields are used to store quantitative data in CO-PA.

    3. Configuration Issues: There may be configuration issues in the CO-PA settings, such as missing or incorrect settings in the operating concern or the characteristics and value fields.

    Solution:

    1. Define PA Transfer Structure:

      • Go to the transaction code KEI1 (Create Transfer Structure) or KEI2 (Change Transfer Structure) in SAP.
      • Ensure that a valid PA transfer structure is created and assigned to the relevant operating concern.
    2. Specify Value Fields:

      • Check the configuration for value fields in the operating concern. You can do this using transaction code KEA0 (Define Value Fields).
      • Ensure that the necessary value fields are defined and assigned correctly.
    3. Check Operating Concern Settings:

      • Use transaction code KEO0 (Define Operating Concern) to review the settings of the operating concern.
      • Ensure that all necessary characteristics and value fields are included in the operating concern.
    4. Review Report/Transaction Settings:

      • If you are executing a specific report or transaction, check its settings to ensure that it is configured to use the correct PA transfer structure and value fields.
    5. Consult Documentation: If you are unsure about the configuration, refer to SAP documentation or consult with your SAP functional consultant for guidance on setting up CO-PA correctly.

    Related Information:
