Message text: Contact the system administrator: there is a performance problem in CO-PA
Following a release upgrade, fields that have not been initialized were
added to operating concern "&V1&". This can have considerable, adverse
effects on performance in Profitability Analysis, particularly on the
performance of the information system. This is because the system, when
values are posted, finds the new profitability segments instead of the
existing ones. <ZH>The number of profitability segments cannot be
reduced retrospectively.</> However, the problem does not affect the
data in any way.
Table "&V2&" of the operating concern contains the following
non-initialized fields:
&V3&
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
If you do not have a Customizing authorization for operating concern "
&V1&", <ZH>it is essential that you inform the person responsible for
Profitability Analysis or the system administrator.</>
You can proceed with the transaction you started.
To initialize the field listed above, execute program RKEINIT_CE4.
You do not need to execute this program immediately, but you should do
so as soon as possible. Choose a time when the system load is minimal,
and execute the program in the background.
The initialization only changes fields that do not yet contain a value.
It does not overwrite data.

KE025
- Contact the system administrator: there is a performance problem in CO-PA ?The SAP error message KE025, which states "Contact the system administrator: there is a performance problem in CO-PA," typically indicates that there is a performance issue within the Controlling Profitability Analysis (CO-PA) module. This can be caused by various factors, and addressing it often requires a systematic approach. Here are some potential causes, solutions, and related information:
Causes:
- Data Volume: Large volumes of data in CO-PA can lead to performance issues, especially if the system is trying to process a significant amount of records at once.
- Inefficient Queries: Poorly designed queries or reports that pull excessive data can slow down performance.
- Database Performance: Issues with the underlying database, such as lack of indexing or fragmentation, can impact performance.
- System Resources: Insufficient system resources (CPU, memory, disk I/O) can lead to performance bottlenecks.
- Configuration Issues: Incorrect configuration settings in CO-PA or related modules can lead to inefficiencies.
- Background Jobs: Long-running background jobs or processes that lock tables can cause delays.
Solutions:
- Analyze Data Volume: Review the amount of data being processed and consider archiving old data or summarizing it to improve performance.
- Optimize Queries: Review and optimize any custom queries or reports. Ensure that they are designed to pull only the necessary data.
- Database Optimization: Work with your database administrator to check for indexing, fragmentation, and overall database health. Regular maintenance tasks like re-indexing can help.
- Monitor System Resources: Use transaction codes like ST03N (Workload Analysis) and ST04 (Database Performance Analysis) to monitor system performance and identify bottlenecks.
- Configuration Review: Check the configuration settings in CO-PA and ensure they are optimized for your business processes.
- Review Background Jobs: Monitor background jobs using transaction SM37 and check for any long-running jobs that may be causing locks or delays.
- Increase System Resources: If the system is consistently under heavy load, consider upgrading hardware resources or optimizing existing resources.
Related Information:
Addressing the KE025 error requires a comprehensive approach to identify the root cause of the performance issue. By analyzing data volume, optimizing queries, and ensuring that system resources are adequate, you can often resolve the performance problems in CO-PA.
