  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

The cost elements for cost estimate &v1& are not assigned to any cost
components. It is therefore not possible to display the cost component
    split.
Either you have not saved cost estimate &V1&, or the cost component
layout has not yet been defined in Customizing. If the cost component
layout is missing, you cannot assign the cost elements in the cost
    estimate to cost components.

    How to fix this error?

If you are creating the cost estimate, save it and select the <LS>cost
component split</> function in the change mode.
If you are changing or displaying the cost estimate, go into
Customizing and assign the cost elements to the cost components.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message K3018 - There is no cost component split for cost estimate & ?

The SAP error message K3018, "There is no cost component split for cost estimate &," typically occurs when you are trying to access or process a cost estimate that does not have a defined cost component split. This can happen in various scenarios, such as when creating or displaying cost estimates in the Controlling (CO) module.

    Cause:

    1. Missing Cost Component Split: The primary cause of this error is that the cost estimate you are trying to work with does not have a cost component split defined. This can occur if the cost estimate was not properly configured or if the necessary settings were not maintained in the system.
    2. Cost Estimate Type: The type of cost estimate being used may not support cost component splits, or it may not have been set up correctly.
    3. Configuration Issues: There may be issues with the configuration of the controlling area, cost elements, or cost component structure.

    Solution:

    1. Check Cost Estimate Configuration:

      • Go to the transaction code CK11N (Create Cost Estimate) or CK40N (Change Cost Estimate) and check if the cost estimate has a cost component split.
      • If it does not, you may need to create a new cost estimate with the correct settings.
    2. Review Cost Component Structure:

      • Ensure that the cost component structure is correctly defined in the system. You can check this in the configuration settings under:
        • SPRO ? Controlling ? Product Cost Controlling ? Cost Object Controlling ? Define Cost Component Structure.
      • Make sure that the cost components are assigned correctly to the relevant cost elements.
    3. Recreate the Cost Estimate:

      • If the cost estimate is missing the cost component split, consider recreating it. Ensure that you select the appropriate options that allow for a cost component split.
    4. Check Costing Variant:

      • Verify that the costing variant being used allows for a cost component split. You can check this in the configuration under:
        • SPRO ? Controlling ? Product Cost Controlling ? Cost Object Controlling ? Define Costing Variants.
    5. Consult Documentation:

      • Review SAP documentation or help resources for additional guidance on cost component splits and cost estimates.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: CK11N (Create Cost Estimate), CK40N (Change Cost Estimate), CK13N (Display Cost Estimate).
    • Cost Component Structure: This is a key element in product costing that allows for the breakdown of costs into various components (e.g., material costs, labor costs, overhead).
    • Costing Variants: These define how costs are calculated and can include settings for cost component splits.

If the issue persists after following these steps, it may be beneficial to consult with your SAP support team or a functional consultant who specializes in Controlling (CO) to further investigate the configuration and settings in your SAP system.
