The SAP error message JIT00015, which indicates "Error during internal number assignment," typically occurs when the system encounters an issue while trying to assign a unique internal number to a document or object. This can happen in various contexts, such as during the creation of documents, transactions, or master data.

    Causes:

    1. Number Range Issues: The most common cause is that the number range for the specific document type is exhausted or not properly configured. This can happen if the number range is not defined, or if the defined range has been fully utilized.

    2. Authorization Issues: Sometimes, the user may not have the necessary authorizations to access or modify the number range settings.

    3. Configuration Errors: Incorrect configuration in the number range settings or in the related document types can lead to this error.

    1. Check Number Range Configuration:

      • Go to the transaction code SNRO (Number Range Objects) and check the configuration for the relevant number range object.
      • Ensure that the number range is defined and that there are available numbers in the range. If the range is exhausted, you may need to extend it.
    2. Adjust Number Range:

      • If the number range is exhausted, you can create a new number range or extend the existing one. Make sure to adjust the intervals accordingly.
    3. Review Authorizations:

      • Ensure that the user has the necessary authorizations to access and modify the number range settings. This can be checked in transaction SU53 or by consulting with your security team.
