  • What causes this issue?

A serial number profile can only be set IUID compatible if the serial
number usage for serialization procedure 'MMSL' (Maintain goods receipt
and issue document) is defined as <LS>Obligatory</>.
This ensures that an UII is assigned (together with the serial number)
once an item has been physically moved.

    System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    How to fix this error?

Check the field <LS>SerUsage </>in customizing of serial number profile
    &V1& in the following views:
    <DS:TRAS.OIS2>Serializing Procedures</>
    <DS:TRAS.S_ALR_87000310>Serializing Procedures for movement types</>.
In order to make the customizing correct you must
Unset the <LS>IUID compatible</> indicator for serial number profile
    &V1&.
Select serial number profile &V1& and choose <LS>Serializing Procedures
    </>.
For serializing procedure 'MMSL' enter '03' (Obligatory) in the
    <LS>SerUsage</> field.
    Save your settings.
Return to view <LS>Serial number profile</> and set the <LS>IUID
compatible</> indicator for serial number profile '&V1&'.

    <LS>Logistics - General </>under <LS>Item Unique Identification (IUID)
    -> Define UID Handling</>.
