  • &ABAP_HINT&
After materials and subsequently an equipment master have been
selected, the quantity of equipment will only be reduced. This means
that subsequent batch selections cannot determine additional equipment.
This also applies when restrictions made using batches are followed by
    equipment selection.
For this reason a pop-up with a corresponding note is displayed before
material or batch restriction is made for the first time.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message IST0007 - Batch selection: No further material selection is assumed. ?

The SAP error message IST0007, which states "Batch selection: No further material selection is assumed," typically occurs during processes that involve batch management, such as goods movements, production orders, or inventory management. This error indicates that the system could not find any suitable batches for the material in question based on the selection criteria provided.

    Causes:

    1. No Available Batches: There may be no batches available for the material in the specified storage location or plant.
    2. Batch Status: The batches that exist may be blocked or have a status that prevents them from being selected (e.g., expired, blocked for usage).
    3. Selection Criteria: The selection criteria used for batch determination may be too restrictive, leading to no batches being found.
    4. Batch Management Configuration: There may be issues with the configuration of batch management in the system, such as missing settings for the material or plant.
    5. Stock Type: The stock type (e.g., unrestricted, quality inspection, blocked) may not allow for the selection of batches.

    Solutions:

    1. Check Available Batches: Verify if there are any batches available for the material in the relevant storage location. You can do this by using transaction codes like MB52 (List Warehouse Stocks on Hand) or MMBE (Stock Overview).
    2. Review Batch Status: Check the status of the batches to ensure they are not blocked or expired. You can use transaction MSC3N to display batch details.
    3. Adjust Selection Criteria: If the selection criteria are too restrictive, consider adjusting them to allow for a broader selection of batches.
    4. Configuration Review: Review the batch management configuration for the material and ensure that it is set up correctly. This includes checking the material master data and batch management settings.
    5. Stock Type Verification: Ensure that the stock type of the batches allows for selection. If the stock is in quality inspection or blocked, it may not be available for the operation you are trying to perform.
