SAP Error Message - Details

  • Message type: E = Error

  • Message class: IR - PM: IMRC - Measurement Readings and Counters

  • Message number: 222

  • Message text: Measurement reading transfer is still active

  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

    You want to deactivate <DS:GLOS.measuring_point>measuring point</> &V1&
    .
However, a valid transfer relationship currently exists for measurement
or counter readings for the measuring point.

    System Response

For reasons of consistency, deactivation can only prevent the direct
entry of measurement or counter readings for the respective measuring
    point.
Whether a measurement reading transfer takes place is solely dependent
on whether a valid transfer relationship exists for the measuring time.

    How to fix this error?

End the transfer relationship still valid for measuring point &V1& if
necessary. The transfer relationships are maintained automatically when
the object structure is changed, for example, when equipment is
    installed or dismantled.
However, you can also end a transfer relationship manually in the
master data maintenance of the receiving measuring point.

    Procedure for System Administrators

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

The SAP error message IR222, which states "Measurement reading transfer is still active," typically occurs in the context of the SAP IS-U (Industry Solution for Utilities) module. This error indicates that there is an ongoing process related to the transfer of measurement readings, and the system is unable to proceed with the requested action because the previous transfer is not yet completed.

    Causes:

    1. Ongoing Transfer Process: There may be an active process that is still transferring measurement readings, which prevents new actions from being taken.
    2. System Lock: The system might be locked due to a previous transaction that has not been completed or has encountered an error.
    3. Background Job: A background job related to measurement reading transfer might be running, causing the system to block further actions.
    4. Data Consistency Issues: There could be inconsistencies in the data that are preventing the transfer from completing successfully.

    Solutions:

    1. Check Active Processes: Use transaction codes like SM37 to check for any active background jobs related to measurement reading transfers. If you find any, you may need to wait for them to complete or terminate them if they are stuck.
    2. Review Lock Entries: Use transaction code SM12 to check for any lock entries that might be preventing the transfer. If you find locks that are no longer needed, you can delete them.
    3. Monitor the Transfer Status: Use transaction EL31 (or similar) to monitor the status of measurement reading transfers. This can help you identify if there are any issues with the current transfer.
    4. Restart the Transfer: If the transfer process is stuck, you may need to restart it. This can often be done through the relevant transaction or by reprocessing the measurement readings.
    5. Consult Logs: Check the application logs (transaction SLG1) for any error messages or warnings that might provide more context on why the transfer is still active.
    6. System Restart: In some cases, a system restart may be necessary to clear any locks or stuck processes, but this should be done with caution and typically as a last resort.
