  • What causes this issue?

    The system attempted to execute intermode communication in an
    environment without an online connection. For example, background
    processing).

    System Response

    The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    How to fix this error?

    As intermode communication is used to communicate between two external
    modes, you have to use a SapGui connection. (e.g. background
    processing). This is an application problem and you have to make the
    appropriate settings in the application.
    You will find the application program that initiated this action in the
    ABAP runtime error section "Active Calls/Events".
