  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

In expression type IRL001 you can link comparisons of logical operations
with one another. The possible operations are AND and OR.
If you mix the links, in other words not all logical links in the
current expression are exclusively AND or OR, the calculation is still
done, line-wise. This means that the logical links are equal in
standing, and neither of the two links has priority over the other.

    System Response

The system message refers to this special feature.

    How to fix this error?

You can split the expression into several sub-expressions, means that
each single expression only contains same link operations.
Alternatively you can use the expression type <ZK>SAP Formula</>

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message ICL_BRF152 - Mixed logical links are processed sequentially ?

The SAP error message ICL_BRF152 indicates that there is an issue with the logical links in a Business Rule Framework (BRF) application. Specifically, it suggests that mixed logical links (AND/OR conditions) are being processed sequentially, which is not allowed in the context of the rule evaluation.

    Cause:

    The error typically arises when:

    • The rule logic is incorrectly defined, mixing AND and OR conditions in a way that the system cannot evaluate them simultaneously.
    • The logical structure of the rules does not conform to the expected format, leading to ambiguity in how the conditions should be processed.

    Solution:

To resolve this error, you can take the following steps:

    1. Review the Rule Definition:

      • Go to the BRF application where the rules are defined.
      • Check the logical links used in the rules. Ensure that you are not mixing AND and OR conditions in a way that creates ambiguity.
    2. Reorganize Logical Links:

      • If you have a combination of AND and OR conditions, consider restructuring the rules. You may need to create separate rules or use nested conditions to clarify the logic.
      • Use parentheses to group conditions logically, ensuring that the evaluation order is clear.
    3. Test the Rules:

      • After making changes, test the rules to ensure that they evaluate correctly without triggering the error.
      • Use the BRF testing tools to simulate different scenarios and validate the logic.
    4. Consult Documentation:

      • Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for guidance on defining logical links in BRF. This can provide insights into best practices and common pitfalls.
    5. Seek Help from SAP Support:
