Message text: Overflow of sequence numbers for calculation module &1 on date &2
Each time a calculation module is called, a unique, two-character
sequence number is defined based on the calculation date. If a
calculation module is called more than 100 times on a particular date,
this causes an overflow of the sequence numbers.
This situation can occur if you have created a large number of future
data records for imputations in accordance with section 53 BeamtVG for
an operation that lies in the past.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
If possible, reduce the number of data records for the imputations by,
for example, grouping records with consecutive timestamps and identical
amounts into one overall record.
If this is not possible or if the system continues to terminate the
operation, you can reduce the pension calculation calls if a reduction
has been carried out according to section 57 of BeamtVG.
To do so, copy the record of infotype 0786 that is valid on the day that
the relevant operation comes into effect and set the start date so that
it is the same as the effective date. Specify the reduction amount valid
as this date as a manual amount. Since the operation lies significantly
more than one year in the past, it is assumed that retroactive changes
to the reduction amount that would now have to be maintained manually
exist in exceptional cases only.
If the system continues to terminate the operation, predefine the
special payment for the outgoing payment months and the special payment
block for the other months.

The SAP error message HRPBS00CA011 indicates an overflow of sequence numbers for a calculation module in the SAP HR (Human Resources) module. This typically occurs when the system has reached the maximum limit of sequence numbers that can be assigned for a specific calculation module on a given date.
Cause:
- Sequence Number Limit: Each calculation module in SAP HR has a limit on the number of sequence numbers it can handle. When this limit is exceeded, the system cannot assign a new sequence number, leading to the overflow error.
- High Volume of Payroll Runs: If there are a large number of payroll runs or calculations being processed for the same date, it can quickly exhaust the available sequence numbers.
- Configuration Issues: Incorrect configuration of the payroll schema or calculation modules may lead to inefficient use of sequence numbers.
Solution:
- Check Sequence Number Usage: Review the sequence numbers that have been used for the calculation module in question. You can do this by checking the relevant payroll logs or tables.
- Adjust Payroll Configuration: If the configuration allows for it, consider adjusting the payroll schema or calculation modules to optimize the use of sequence numbers. This may involve consolidating calculations or changing the way they are processed.
- Increase Sequence Number Limit: If possible, consult with your SAP Basis or technical team to see if the limit on sequence numbers can be increased. This may involve changes in the underlying database or configuration settings.
- Run Payroll in Batches: If you are processing a large number of employees, consider running payroll in smaller batches to avoid hitting the sequence number limit.
- Consult SAP Notes: Check the SAP Support Portal for any relevant SAP Notes that may address this specific error or provide guidance on handling sequence number overflows.

SAP messages fall into 3 different categories: Error messages
(message type = E), Warnings (W) or Informational (I) messages.
An error message will prevent you from continuing your work - it is a hard stop and you need to fix the error before you can proceed. A warning message will stop your work, however, you can then bypass the warning by pressing the Enter key on your keyboard. That said, it is still good practice to investigate the cause of the warning message and address it. An information message will not stop your work and is truly just for informational purposes.
