  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message HRFORMS151 - Drag&Drop and/or pasting not allowed for the selected object ?

The SAP error message HRFORMS151 ("Drag&Drop and/or pasting not allowed for the selected object") typically occurs in the context of SAP HR Forms or SAP Interactive Forms when a user attempts to drag and drop or paste an object into a form or a specific area where such actions are not permitted.

    Cause:

    1. Object Restrictions: The specific object or area you are trying to manipulate may have restrictions that prevent drag-and-drop or pasting actions. This could be due to the design of the form or the properties set for that object.
    2. Form Configuration: The form may not be configured to accept certain types of objects or data. For example, if the form is designed to only accept specific data types or formats, trying to paste incompatible data will trigger this error.
    3. User Permissions: The user may not have the necessary permissions to modify the form or the specific object within the form.
    4. Technical Limitations: There may be technical limitations or bugs in the version of SAP you are using that prevent these actions.

    Solution:

    1. Check Object Properties: Review the properties of the object you are trying to manipulate. Ensure that it is designed to accept drag-and-drop or paste actions.
    2. Use Alternative Methods: Instead of dragging and dropping or pasting, try using the standard input methods provided by the form. For example, manually entering data or using the form's built-in functions to add objects.
    3. Review Form Configuration: If you have access, check the configuration of the form to ensure that it allows for the actions you are trying to perform. This may involve working with a form designer or administrator.
    4. Permissions Check: Ensure that you have the necessary permissions to modify the form. If not, contact your system administrator to request the appropriate access.
    5. Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidance on the form you are working with. There may be known issues or additional configuration steps required.
    6. Update SAP: If you suspect a bug, check if there are any updates or patches available for your SAP system that address this issue.
