Message text: Transport with generic key &1 not possible
You want to transport the transport object &V2& using the key &V1&. Key
&V1& contains the character '*', which means that the key selects
several objects.
This function is not supported due to one of the following reasons:
The "With Dependent Objects" option was selected, or
The character '*' in key &V1& appears too far in front
If you want to transport the dependent objects as well, you have to
specify a key that only selects one object.
If you want to transport more than one object, the character '*' may
only appear at the end of the key.
In the case of sets (GRW_SET), only the set name may contain the
character '*'.
In the case of variants (GRW_JOB_VARIANT), only the program type or the
variant may contain the character '*'.

GR773
- Transport with generic key &1 not possible ?The SAP error message GR773, which states "Transport with generic key &1 not possible," typically occurs in the context of transport requests in SAP systems. This error indicates that there is an issue with the transport of objects that are associated with a generic key, which is not allowed in certain scenarios.
Cause:
- Generic Key Usage: The error often arises when trying to transport objects that are defined with a generic key. Generic keys are used in various SAP applications to allow for flexible data handling, but they cannot be transported directly.
- Transport Configuration: The transport configuration may not allow for the transport of certain objects or data types that are associated with generic keys.
- Missing Authorizations: Sometimes, the user may not have the necessary authorizations to perform the transport operation.
Solution:
- Identify the Object: Determine which object is causing the error by checking the transport request details. Look for the specific object associated with the generic key mentioned in the error message.
- Avoid Transporting Generic Keys: If the object is indeed associated with a generic key, you may need to find an alternative way to move the data or configuration. This could involve:
- Manually recreating the configuration in the target system.
- Using a different method to transport the data, such as using a custom program or report.
- Check Transport Routes: Ensure that the transport routes are correctly configured and that the objects you are trying to transport are allowed in the transport layer.
- Consult Documentation: Review SAP documentation or notes related to the specific object type you are trying to transport. There may be specific guidelines or restrictions regarding the transport of objects with generic keys.
- Authorization Check: Verify that you have the necessary authorizations to perform the transport. If not, contact your SAP security team to obtain the required permissions.
