- Set &: temporary sets cannot be displayed ?The SAP error message GR498 ("Set &: temporary sets cannot be displayed") typically occurs when you are trying to display a temporary set in the SAP system. Temporary sets are often used in the context of reporting or analysis, and they are not stored permanently in the database. Instead, they exist only for the duration of a session or a specific transaction.
Cause:
- Temporary Set: The error indicates that you are attempting to display a temporary set, which is not allowed in the current context. Temporary sets are usually created during a session and are not saved for future use.
- Session Context: If the session in which the temporary set was created has ended or if the set has been cleared, you will not be able to display it.
- Authorization Issues: In some cases, the user may not have the necessary authorizations to view certain sets or data.
Solution:
- Create a Permanent Set: If you need to work with the data in a set, consider creating a permanent set instead of a temporary one. This can usually be done through the relevant transaction codes or reports in SAP.
- Recreate the Temporary Set: If you still need to use the temporary set, you may need to recreate it in the current session. Ensure that you follow the steps to generate the set again.
- Check Authorizations: Ensure that you have the necessary authorizations to view the sets. If you suspect authorization issues, contact your SAP security administrator.
- Session Management: Make sure that you are working within the same session where the temporary set was created. If you have logged out or closed the session, you will need to recreate the set.
