G00712
- A top consolidation group is already assigned to hierarchy &1 ?The SAP error message G00712 indicates that there is an issue with the assignment of a top consolidation group to a hierarchy in the SAP system. This error typically arises in the context of financial consolidation processes, particularly when working with the SAP Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC) or SAP Financial Consolidation modules.
Cause:
The error message "A top consolidation group is already assigned to hierarchy &1" suggests that the hierarchy you are trying to assign a top consolidation group to is already associated with another top consolidation group. - Go to the relevant transaction or configuration area in SAP where you can view the hierarchy assignments.
- Check which top consolidation group is currently assigned to the hierarchy indicated by &1 in the error message.
Remove Existing Assignment:
- If you need to assign a new top consolidation group, you will first need to remove the existing assignment. This can usually be done in the same configuration area where you checked the assignments.
- Ensure that you have the necessary authorizations to make changes to the hierarchy assignments.
Assign the New Top Consolidation Group:
- After removing the existing assignment, you can now assign the new top consolidation group to the hierarchy.
Validate Changes:
- After making the changes, validate that the new assignment is correctly reflected in the system and that there are no further errors.
