Message text: No valid change request for cross-client objects
&V1& contain cross-client objects, which cannot be placed into a
Customizing request.
The program was unable to determine a valid change request of the
category SYST, or to assign a new change request.
No &V1& will be transported.
To determine if a suitable request already exists, you can display all
currently modifiable change requests in the <DS:TRAN.SE09>Workbench
Organizer</>.
Otherwise, check if you have the authorization to create change
requests of the category SYST.
After the cause of the error has been isolated and remedied, you can
repeat the transport of &V1& by calling up the transport program and
only choosing &V1& on the selection screen.
There, specify &V2& as the customizing request, and specify a valid
change request of category SYST when you are prompted for the request.

G0090
- No valid change request for cross-client objects ?The SAP error message G0090, which states "No valid change request for cross-client objects," typically occurs when you are trying to make changes to cross-client objects (like customizing settings, data dictionary objects, etc.) without a valid transport request. This error is common in environments where changes need to be tracked and transported between different SAP systems (like Development, Quality Assurance, and Production).
Cause:
- Missing Transport Request: The most common cause is that there is no active or valid transport request associated with the changes you are trying to make.
- Incorrect Client: You might be in a client that does not allow changes to cross-client objects, or you may not have the necessary authorizations.
- Transport Organizer Issues: There could be issues with the transport organizer or the transport directory that prevent the creation of a transport request.
- System Configuration: The system might be configured in a way that restricts changes to certain objects without a transport request.
Solution:
Create a Transport Request:
- If you are making changes to cross-client objects, ensure that you create a transport request before making any changes. You can do this by going to the Transport Organizer (transaction SE09 or SE10) and creating a new transport request.
Check Client Settings:
- Ensure that you are in the correct client that allows changes to cross-client objects. Typically, changes should be made in the Development client.
Check Authorizations:
- Verify that you have the necessary authorizations to create and manage transport requests. You may need to consult with your SAP Basis team or system administrator.
Use the Correct Transaction:
- Make sure you are using the correct transaction codes for the changes you are trying to make. Some transactions may not allow changes to cross-client objects without a transport request.
Consult SAP Notes:
- Check for any relevant SAP Notes that might address this issue. Sometimes, specific patches or updates can resolve underlying problems.
Transport Directory Check:
- If you suspect issues with the transport directory, consult your SAP Basis team to ensure that the transport directory is correctly configured and accessible.
Related Information:
If the issue persists after following these steps, it may be beneficial to consult with your SAP Basis team or refer to SAP support for further assistance.
