FTR_TEX1603
- Multiple pricing items with identical key fields are not permitted ?The SAP error message FTR_TEX1603 indicates that there are multiple pricing items with identical key fields in a financial transaction, which is not allowed in the system. This error typically occurs in the context of financial transactions, particularly in the area of treasury and risk management, where pricing items are used to define the costs associated with financial instruments.
Cause:
The error is caused by the presence of multiple pricing items that have the same key fields. Key fields are unique identifiers for pricing items, and having duplicates violates the integrity constraints of the database. This can happen due to:
- Data Entry Errors: Duplicate entries may have been created during manual data entry.
- Data Migration Issues: If data was migrated from another system, it may have resulted in duplicate records.
- Configuration Issues: Incorrect configuration in the pricing setup may lead to the generation of duplicate pricing items.
Solution:
To resolve the error, you can take the following steps:
Identify Duplicate Entries:
- Use transaction codes like SE16 or SE11 to access the relevant database tables (e.g., pricing tables) and check for duplicate entries based on the key fields.
Delete or Correct Duplicates:
- If duplicates are found, you can either delete the unnecessary entries or correct them to ensure that each key field combination is unique.
Review Data Entry Processes:
- Ensure that data entry processes are robust and include checks to prevent the creation of duplicate records.
Check Configuration:
- Review the configuration settings related to pricing items in the system to ensure that they are set up correctly and do not allow for duplicates.
Consult Documentation:
- Refer to SAP documentation or help notes related to the specific module you are working with for additional guidance on handling pricing items.
Testing:
- After making corrections, test the transaction again to ensure that the error does not reoccur.
Related Information:
If the issue persists after following these steps, it may be beneficial to consult with your SAP support team or a technical consultant who can provide deeper insights into the specific configuration and data structure of your SAP environment.
