What causes this issue?

A business partner must be assigned to a standard address (XXDEFAULT) at
all times, starting from the time it is created in the system (unless
the business partner is created without an address). A gap was
discovered between the validity periods when the standard address was
checked.
Note the long text for the BAPI parameter ADDRESSUSAGEADJUST, in order
to avoid any gaps that may occur when adjusting the address usage.

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
