Message text: Quantities of synchronized formula are scaled by factor &1
After the system has determined the synchronized formula based on the
stage formulas, it scales the quantities. The factor for the scaling
results from the assumption that the maximum theoretical output of the
synchronized formula is the same as the reference quantity of the
recipe.
If no reference quantity exists for the recipe, the synchronized formula
is not scaled. In this case, this message does not appear. Target input
quantity, best practical output, and maximum theoretical output of the
unscaled, synchronized formula match the quantities of the last stage
formula.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

FRMLDLG388
- Quantities of synchronized formula are scaled by factor &1 ?The SAP error message FRMLDLG388 indicates that there is a discrepancy in the quantities of synchronized formulas, which are scaled by a specific factor. This typically occurs in the context of formula management within SAP, particularly when dealing with production or planning processes that involve formulas for materials.
Cause:
The error arises when there is a mismatch in the quantities of the components or ingredients in a formula that is synchronized with another formula. This can happen due to:
- Different Scaling Factors: The formulas may have been defined with different scaling factors, leading to inconsistencies in the quantities.
- Changes in Formula Configuration: If a formula has been modified (e.g., changing the quantity of a component) without updating the synchronized formulas, it can lead to this error.
- Data Inconsistencies: There may be inconsistencies in the master data related to the materials or formulas involved.
Solution:
To resolve the FRMLDLG388 error, you can take the following steps:
- Check Formula Definitions: Review the definitions of the formulas involved to ensure that they are consistent and that the scaling factors are correctly applied.
- Synchronize Formulas: If changes have been made to one formula, ensure that all synchronized formulas are updated accordingly. This may involve re-synchronizing the formulas.
- Adjust Quantities: If necessary, adjust the quantities in the formulas to ensure they match the expected values and scaling factors.
- Review Master Data: Check the master data for the materials involved to ensure that there are no discrepancies that could be causing the issue.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidance on managing formulas and resolving synchronization issues.
Related Information:
If the problem persists after following these steps, it may be beneficial to consult with your SAP support team or a technical consultant who specializes in SAP formula management.
