Message text: Nutrient values for component &1 are determined via ingredients
The system is configured in such a way that the nutrient composition is
determined from the formula data for the component &V1&. To do this, the
system explodes the list of ingredients that describes the component
into nutrient values.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
We recommend that you configure the system in such a way that all
compositions are always determined from specification management, that
is from the property tree. This makes the data origin unique and
transparent.

FRMLAPI388
- Nutrient values for component &1 are determined via ingredients ?The SAP error message FRMLAPI388 indicates that the nutrient values for a specific component (denoted as &1) are being determined through its ingredients rather than being directly assigned to the component itself. This message typically arises in the context of SAP's Recipe Management or Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) modules, particularly when dealing with food or chemical formulations.
Cause:
- Ingredient-Based Calculation: The system is set up to calculate nutrient values based on the ingredients of a formulation rather than having predefined nutrient values for the component itself.
- Missing Direct Nutrient Values: The component in question may not have direct nutrient values assigned, leading the system to rely on the nutrient values of its ingredients.
- Configuration Settings: The configuration in the material master or recipe may dictate that nutrient values are derived from ingredients.
Solution:
- Check Component Settings: Review the settings for the component in question. Ensure that nutrient values are correctly defined in the material master for that component if they should be directly assigned.
- Review Ingredient Composition: If the nutrient values are intended to be derived from ingredients, verify that all ingredients have accurate nutrient values assigned.
- Adjust Recipe Configuration: If necessary, adjust the recipe or formulation configuration to ensure that it aligns with how nutrient values should be calculated (either directly or through ingredients).
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidance on how nutrient values are calculated and how to configure them properly.
- Testing: After making changes, test the formulation to ensure that the nutrient values are now being calculated as expected.
