  • What causes this issue?

There is a convention 'nnnnnnnnnn' that allows you to access the IDs
stored for a different object (contract); or you can access IDs already
stored on the database in order to recalculate IDs as required for
subsequent processes for the current object (contract) using '#nnnnnnn'.
If you use this function, then the maximum number of characters
remaining for the definition of the value ID is eight or seven,
    respectively.
The maximum length of a value ID is ten characters.

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
