Message text: Range definition contains more lines than shown; see long text
For the current expression, range definitions have been maintained.
These definitions are so complex that the system cannot show the
complete definition. To give you an impression of the range, the system
shows only the first 99 definitions.
Note that this situation does not indicate an error. The system is
capable of handling range definitions in the backend that are far more
complex than what can be shown or maintained in the user interface.
Therefore, this situation can only occur if the current expression has
been defined programmatically rather than manually.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
If you need to change the definition of the current expression, we
recommend you get in contact with the object owner to make sure that the
changes do not interfere with parts of the range definition that are not
visible in the user interface.

- Range definition contains more lines than shown; see long text ?The SAP error message FDT_WD_SERVICE131 indicates that there is an issue with the range definition in a selection screen or a filter in a report or transaction. Specifically, it means that the range definition contains more entries than can be displayed in the current view, which can lead to confusion or incomplete data being shown to the user.
Cause:
- Exceeding Display Limits: The range definition may have more entries than the system is configured to display at once. This can happen if a user has defined a large number of values in a selection screen or filter.
- Configuration Issues: There may be configuration settings that limit the number of entries displayed, or the system may not be optimized to handle large datasets effectively.
- Data Volume: The underlying data may have a high volume, leading to a situation where the range definition exceeds the display capacity.
Solution:
- Check Long Text: The error message suggests checking the long text for more details. This can provide specific guidance on how to resolve the issue.
- Reduce Range Entries: If possible, try to reduce the number of entries in the range definition. This can be done by:
- Narrowing down the selection criteria.
- Using more specific filters to limit the data being processed.
- Adjust Display Settings: If you have access to system configuration, check if there are settings that can be adjusted to allow for more entries to be displayed.
- Use Pagination: If the application supports it, consider implementing pagination or a similar mechanism to handle large datasets more effectively.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidance related to the transaction or report you are working with.
