  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message FDT_TRANSPORT307 - Cust. objects can be written to workb. transports in change mode only ?

The SAP error message FDT_TRANSPORT307 indicates that you are trying to transport custom objects in a way that is not allowed. Specifically, it states that customer objects can only be written to workbench transports when in change mode. This typically occurs when you are attempting to transport objects that are not in the correct state for transport.

    Cause:

    1. Transport Request Status: The transport request may not be in change mode. If the transport request is released or in a status that does not allow changes, you will encounter this error.
    2. Object Locking: The objects you are trying to transport may be locked or not available for modification.
    3. Incorrect Transport Type: You might be trying to use a transport type that does not support the objects you are working with.

    Solution:

    1. Check Transport Request Status:

      • Ensure that the transport request you are working with is in change mode. You can do this by going to the Transport Organizer (transaction code SE09 or SE10) and checking the status of the transport request.
      • If the transport request is released, you will need to create a new transport request or change the status of the existing one to allow modifications.
    2. Unlock Objects:

      • If the objects are locked, you may need to unlock them. You can check for locks using transaction code SM12 and remove any unnecessary locks.
    3. Create a New Transport Request:

      • If the current transport request cannot be modified, consider creating a new workbench transport request and adding the custom objects to it.
    4. Use the Correct Transport Type:

      • Ensure that you are using the correct transport type for the objects you are trying to transport. For custom development objects, you typically need a workbench transport request.
