Message type: E = Error
Message class: FDT_TRACE_INFO - Messages to enrich traces with additional info
Message number: 515
Message text: Trace cannot be parsed; contains unversioned objects that have changed
You have tried to display the trace information that has been recorded
for the current function. However, this is not possible for the
following reason:
Generally, for trace recording it is required that all objects that are
involved in a function call to be traced are versioned. This is
necessary for the system in order to be able to reproduce the traced
function call with all objects in their original status by the time the
trace was recorded.
As an exception to this general rule, it is also possible to display the
trace information for a function even if there are unversioned objects
involved. However, in this case, the trace can only be displayed if the
unversioned objects have <zh>not</> been changed after the trace was
recorded. For the current function, this condition is <zh>not</>
fulfilled. As a consequence, the selected trace cannot be displayed
anymore.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

FDT_TRACE_INFO515
- Trace cannot be parsed; contains unversioned objects that have changed ?The SAP error message FDT_TRACE_INFO515 indicates that there is an issue with the trace data in the Field Data Tool (FDT) where the trace cannot be parsed due to the presence of unversioned objects that have changed. This typically occurs when there are discrepancies between the versions of the objects being referenced in the trace and the current state of those objects in the system.
Cause:
- Unversioned Objects: The error suggests that there are objects in the trace that are not versioned, meaning they do not have a version history or are not tracked in a way that allows the system to reconcile changes.
- Changes to Objects: If these unversioned objects have been modified after the trace was created, the system cannot accurately parse the trace because it relies on the current state of the objects.
- Inconsistent Data: The inconsistency between the trace data and the current state of the objects can lead to parsing issues.
Solution:
- Check Object Versions: Review the objects referenced in the trace to determine if they are versioned. If they are not, consider creating versions for these objects to track changes more effectively.
- Recreate the Trace: If possible, recreate the trace after ensuring that all relevant objects are in a consistent state. This may involve reverting changes or ensuring that the objects are not modified during the tracing process.
- Update Objects: If the objects have changed, update the trace to reflect the current state of the objects. This may involve re-running the process that generated the trace.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or notes related to the Field Data Tool and the specific error message for additional guidance and best practices.
- Contact SAP Support: If the issue persists, consider reaching out to SAP support for assistance. They may provide insights specific to your system configuration and the objects involved.
