  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

For the current decision table, the system has tried to carry out a
business transaction coverage check. With this type of check, the system
verifies whether all possible combinations of domain values that are
defined for the data objects in the condition columns are covered by a
respective table row. However, this check is limited to data objects
with a relatively small number of domain values for performance reasons.
In the current decision table, this limit is exceeded by the domain
value list defined for column '&V1&'.
Note: This check is <ZH>not</> dealing with the number of rows in the
    decision table.

    System Response

The business coverage check cannot be performed.

    How to fix this error?

If the result of the business coverage check is crucial for you, do one
    of the following:
Try to reduce the number of entries in the domain value list defined for
the data object in column '&V1&'. For example, a data object bound to
the system table for country keys will always exceed the limit. But if
you only have to discriminate between five discrete countries, you might
limit the domain value list to these five countries.
If the domain value list cannot be reduced, you have to analyze the
table entries manually to make sure that all relevant combinations are
    covered.

    Procedure for System Administrators

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message FDT_EXPRESSIONS195 - Coverage check not possible; too many values defined for column '&1' ?

The SAP error message FDT_EXPRESSIONS195 indicates that there is an issue with the number of values defined for a specific column in a data expression or rule. This error typically arises in the context of SAP's Flexible Data Import (FDI) or Flexible Data Transformation (FDT) tools, where you are trying to define a set of values for a column, but the number of values exceeds the allowed limit.

    Cause:

The primary cause of this error is that the number of values you are trying to define for a specific column exceeds the maximum limit set by the system. This can happen in scenarios such as:

    • When using a large list of values in a filter or condition.
    • When defining a mapping or transformation rule that includes too many distinct values for a single column.

    Solution:

To resolve this error, you can consider the following approaches:

    1. Reduce the Number of Values:

      • Review the values you are trying to define for the column and see if you can reduce the number. For example, instead of listing every single value, consider using ranges or categories if applicable.
    2. Use a Different Approach:

      • If the values are too many to manage, consider using a different method to handle the data. For instance, you might use a lookup table or a reference table that can be joined or referenced instead of listing all values directly.
    3. Check Configuration Settings:

      • Sometimes, the limits can be adjusted in the configuration settings of the FDT or FDI tools. Consult your SAP documentation or system administrator to see if there is a way to increase the limit for the number of values.
    4. Consult SAP Notes:

      • Check the SAP Support Portal for any relevant notes or updates regarding this error. There may be specific patches or updates that address this issue.
    5. Testing:

      • After making changes, test the configuration to ensure that the error is resolved and that the data processing works as expected.

    Related Information:

    • Documentation: Refer to the official SAP documentation for FDT and FDI for more details on limits and best practices.
    • SAP Community: Engage with the SAP Community forums to see if other users have encountered similar issues and what solutions they have found.
