Message type: E = Error
Message class: ESH_OM_OBJ_MODEL_RP2 - Object Model Repository (2)
Message number: 617
Message text: Object type &1 already existed or exists in another system/client
An object type has an internal key (which is a GUID) and an external key
(its name you can see in the Enterprise Search Modeler), When you create
a new object type or rename an existing object type the combination of
the internal and the external key is stored on the GTABKEY-server to
assure that an object type has the same internal key in different
systems.
During the creation of object type &v1& in software component &v2& it
was detected that there is already an according entry on the
GTABKEY-server.
This means either that
an object type with the name &v1& already exists in software component
&v2& in at least one other system/client (e.g. in a lower release) or
that in this or in another system/client an object type with the name
&v1& had existed in software component &v2& and was deleted.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
Please be aware that in case 1. the new object type &v1& is the same as
the other object types that exist in other systems/clients.

- Object type &1 already existed or exists in another system/client ?The SAP error message ESH_OM_OBJ_MODEL_RP2617 indicates that there is an issue with object types in the SAP system, specifically that an object type already exists or is present in another system or client. This error typically arises in the context of the SAP Enterprise Search or the SAP NetWeaver system when trying to create or import an object that has a conflicting identifier.
Cause:
- Duplicate Object: The object you are trying to create or import already exists in the current system or client.
- Cross-Client Issues: The object may exist in another client within the same SAP system, leading to conflicts.
- Transport Issues: If you are transporting objects between systems, the object may already exist in the target system.
- Incorrect Configuration: There may be configuration issues or inconsistencies in the object model.
Solution:
- Check Existing Objects: Verify if the object already exists in the current client or system. You can do this by using transaction codes like SE11 (Data Dictionary) or SE80 (Object Navigator) to search for the object.
- Delete or Rename: If the object is not needed, consider deleting it or renaming the new object you are trying to create to avoid the conflict.
- Transport Management: If the issue arises during a transport, ensure that the transport request does not contain objects that already exist in the target system. You may need to adjust the transport request accordingly.
- Cross-Client Check: If the object exists in another client, you may need to either use that client or ensure that the object is not being duplicated across clients.
- Consult Documentation: Review SAP documentation or notes related to the specific object type you are working with for any additional guidance or known issues.
