  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

Software component &v1& cannot be activated for programm-based SWC
transport because a transport request has not been released (&v2&).

    System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    How to fix this error?

Release all existing transports containing object catalog entries of NW
    Enterprise Search object repository entries.

    Procedure for System Administrators

Changes to the object repository technically result in generated ABAP
programs. Thus the modeling metadata is serialized as a self-extracting
program. Workbench requests are used to deliver the programs.
All object repository imports (based on those programs) are listed in
the import log (transport). Object repository updates are transported by
SAP service packages or SAP Notes.
The previous transport mechanism used customizing transport requests
    (transport object SEST).

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message ESH_IEF_MSG015 - Release all transport requests before activating software component &1 ?

The SAP error message ESH_IEF_MSG015 indicates that there are transport requests that need to be released before you can activate a software component. This is a common issue in SAP systems when changes have been made in the development environment and those changes are not yet released.

    Cause:

    The error occurs because:

    1. There are transport requests in the system that are still in the "modification" or "in process" state.
    2. The system requires that all transport requests related to the software component be released to ensure that the changes are properly managed and do not conflict with other changes.

    Solution:

To resolve this error, follow these steps:

    1. Check Transport Requests:

      • Go to the Transport Organizer (transaction code SE09 or SE10).
      • Look for any transport requests that are in the "Modifiable" or "Released" state.
    2. Release Transport Requests:

      • If you find any transport requests that are still in the "Modifiable" state, you need to release them.
      • Select the transport request and choose the option to release it (usually by right-clicking and selecting "Release" or using the menu options).
    3. Confirm Release:

      • After releasing the transport requests, confirm that they are now in the "Released" state.
    4. Retry Activation:

      • Once all relevant transport requests are released, try to activate the software component again.

    Related Information:

    • Transport Management System (TMS): Understanding how the TMS works can help you manage transport requests effectively.
    • Transport Request Types: Familiarize yourself with different types of transport requests (e.g., workbench requests, customizing requests) and their purposes.
    • Best Practices: Regularly check and manage transport requests to avoid such issues in the future. It’s a good practice to release transport requests promptly after changes are made.

If you continue to experience issues after following these steps, consider checking the SAP Notes or consulting with your SAP Basis team for further assistance.
