Message type: E = Error
Message class: ESH_HANA_ADMIN - ESH HANA Index Administration
Message number: 220
Message text: Cannot create object &1 (SWC &2) as table-based object
This message is returned - as warning only - on ESH search connector
creation or update if an ESH search connector or a single model
contained or used or referenced in an ESH search connector cannot be
generated as "table-based" - as modeled - but has to be generated as
"replication-based".
The reason(s) for the switch from "table-based" to "replication-based"
will typically be reported in the neighboring messages (in most cases:
also warnings) in the job log.
Connector creation will continue,
but the result - replication-based connectors - is probably not as
intended.
Connectors which get created in "replication mode" will not be active
right from the start.
They will only be set to status "Prepared" after creation, and require
initial indexing to be set to status "Active" and "Searchable" and -
depending on use-case - registration for real-time indexing or scheduled
delta indexing to get updated regularly.
If you get this message you should check whether the switch to
"replication mode" is intended - some scenarios can only be run in
replication mode - or whether it happened accidentally, for example due
to missing scenario configuration or due to missing table access
privileges for the HANA database tables. In the switch to
replication-mode is not intended the reasons should be identified and
the scenario should be corrected.
To find out the reasons for the switch from table-based to the
replication scenario for the affected objects check the neighboring
detail messages in the job log.
Once the reasons for the switch to replication mode are detected and
corrected you can re-update the connectors from the ESH cockpit. They
will then be generated as table-based.
&SYS_ADMIN
The message applies only to scenario Enterprise Search on HANA
In the scenario Enterprise Search on TREX all connectors will require
indexing by default.
Note: Some search models are generally not table-based for technical
reasons, i.e. they are "replication-only" by nature. If a connector is
relying on at least one of these replication-based objects the overall
connector will require an indexing step, whereby only the
replication-based objects will have to be indexed to activate the
connector.
For objects modeled as "replication-only" the message "object has been
switched to replication mode" will not be issued.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

ESH_HANA_ADMIN220
- Cannot create object &1 (SWC &2) as table-based object ?The SAP error message ESH_HANA_ADMIN220 indicates that there is an issue with creating a table-based object in the SAP HANA environment. This error typically arises in the context of the SAP Enterprise Search (ESH) or when working with HANA database objects.
Cause:
The error can be caused by several factors, including:
Insufficient Privileges: The user attempting to create the object may not have the necessary permissions to create table-based objects in the specified schema.
Existing Object Conflict: There may already be an object with the same name in the database, which prevents the creation of a new object.
Incorrect Configuration: The configuration settings for the HANA database or the specific application may not be set up correctly, leading to issues when trying to create objects.
Database Limitations: There may be limitations or restrictions in the HANA database that prevent the creation of certain types of objects.
Technical Issues: There could be underlying technical issues with the HANA database or the SAP system itself.
Solution:
To resolve the error, you can take the following steps:
Check User Privileges:
- Ensure that the user has the necessary permissions to create objects in the specified schema. You may need to grant the appropriate roles or privileges.
Verify Object Existence:
- Check if an object with the same name already exists in the database. If it does, consider renaming the new object or dropping the existing one if it is no longer needed.
Review Configuration Settings:
- Review the configuration settings for the HANA database and the application to ensure they are set up correctly. This may involve checking the settings in the SAP HANA Studio or the relevant configuration files.
Consult SAP Notes:
- Look for any relevant SAP Notes or documentation that may address this specific error. SAP frequently updates its knowledge base with solutions to common issues.
Check Database Health:
- Ensure that the HANA database is running smoothly and that there are no underlying technical issues. This may involve checking logs or monitoring tools for any errors or warnings.
