- Cannot upload Customizing due to references in hyperobjects ?The SAP error message EM163, which states "Cannot upload Customizing due to references in hyperobjects," typically occurs when there are issues related to the transport of customizing settings in SAP systems, particularly when dealing with hyperobjects. Hyperobjects are complex objects that can have multiple references and dependencies, which can complicate the transport process.
Cause:
- References in Hyperobjects: The error is primarily caused by the presence of references in hyperobjects that are not properly resolved or are missing. This can happen if the hyperobject is dependent on other objects that are not included in the transport request.
- Incomplete Transport Request: If the transport request does not include all necessary objects or dependencies, the system will prevent the upload to avoid inconsistencies.
- Customizing Settings: Customizing settings that are linked to hyperobjects may not be correctly configured or may reference objects that are not available in the target system.
Solution:
- Check Dependencies: Review the hyperobjects and their dependencies. Ensure that all required objects are included in the transport request. You may need to manually add missing objects.
- Transport Request Review: Open the transport request in the Transport Organizer (SE09 or SE10) and verify that all necessary customizing settings and related objects are included.
- Resolve References: If there are references to other customizing objects, ensure that those objects are also transported or available in the target system.
- Use Transaction SE03: Use transaction SE03 (Transport Organizer Tools) to analyze the transport request and check for missing objects or dependencies.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or notes related to hyperobjects and customizing transport to understand any specific requirements or limitations.
- Contact SAP Support: If the issue persists, consider reaching out to SAP support for assistance, especially if it involves complex hyperobject configurations.
