Message text: Changes to period consumpt. have effects on extrapolation/BB amount
The period from &V3& to &V4& is representative for the register
allocated to installation &V1& and in turn meter reading unit &V2&.
During extrapolation, the system searches for results in the past,
starting with the last result, entered on &V4&, and continuing until
&V3&. This ensures that extrapolation period is sufficiently
representative.
If you change the period consumption <ZH>after</> &V3&, this new
consumption value has priority during the extrapolation.
If you change the period consumption <ZH>on or after</> &V3&, then this
value has priority if no result is found between the change date
(valid-from date) and &V3&.
Whenever you change the period consumption in one of these two ways,
extapolation is affected, that is, expected meter reading values and
budget billing amounts are affected.

EL193
- Changes to period consumpt. have effects on extrapolation/BB amount ?The SAP error message EL193, which states "Changes to period consumption have effects on extrapolation/BB amount," typically occurs in the context of the SAP system's handling of consumption-based planning or forecasting. This error indicates that there have been changes made to the consumption data for a specific period, which in turn affects the extrapolation or the budgeted amount (BB) for that period.
Cause:
- Data Changes: The primary cause of this error is that there have been changes to the consumption data (e.g., sales orders, stock levels) for a specific period that impact the calculations for future periods.
- Extrapolation Settings: The settings for how the system extrapolates data based on historical consumption may not align with the new data, leading to inconsistencies.
- Planning Parameters: Changes in planning parameters or methods can also trigger this error if they conflict with existing data.
Solution:
- Review Changes: Check the changes made to the period consumption data. Ensure that they are accurate and necessary.
- Recalculate Extrapolation: After making changes, you may need to recalculate the extrapolation or budgeted amounts. This can often be done through the planning transaction or report that you are using.
- Adjust Planning Parameters: If the error persists, review the planning parameters and settings to ensure they are correctly configured for the current data.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidance on handling this error in your version of SAP.
- Test in a Sandbox: If possible, replicate the issue in a test environment to understand the impact of the changes and how to resolve them without affecting production data.
