Message number: 595
Message text: Termination: Multiple default values are SPACE for BC set &1 for path &2
The BC Set activation was canceled because multiple records were found
for language-dependent BC Set variables in the eCATT command interface
that cannot be assigned. These records contain identical values in the
key fields TABNAME, FIELDNAME, LANGU, and DEFAULTVALUE and their
DEFAULTVALUE = SPACE..
If several of such records exist in the eCATT command interface, they
cannot be clearly assigned to BC Set variables.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
To avoid ambiguity, you have the following options:
1.) Review the eCATT command interface and remove the data records in
question
or
2.) Review the BC Set and specify default values for the variables using
the corresponding customizing entries.

ECATT595
- Termination: Multiple default values are SPACE for BC set &1 for path &2 ?The SAP error message ECATT595 indicates that there is a problem with the configuration of a Business Configuration (BC) set in the context of eCATT (extended Computer Aided Test Tool). Specifically, the error states that there are multiple default values set to SPACE for a particular BC set and path, which leads to ambiguity in the execution of the test script.
Cause:
- Multiple Default Values: The error occurs when there are multiple entries in the configuration for a specific BC set and path, and all of them are set to SPACE (i.e., empty). This creates confusion for the system as it cannot determine which value to use.
- Incorrect Configuration: The configuration of the BC set may not have been set up correctly, leading to multiple default values being defined.
- Data Inconsistency: There may be inconsistencies in the data or settings that have been applied to the BC set.
Solution:
Review BC Set Configuration:
- Go to the transaction code for maintaining BC sets (e.g.,
SIMG
orSPRO
).- Check the specific BC set mentioned in the error message and review the paths and default values defined.
- Ensure that there is only one default value for each path. If there are multiple entries with SPACE, remove or correct them.
Adjust Test Script:
- If the test script is referencing the BC set, ensure that it is correctly configured to handle the values being passed.
- Modify the test script to avoid ambiguity by explicitly defining the values instead of relying on defaults.
Check for Updates:
- Ensure that your SAP system is up to date with the latest patches and updates, as this may resolve known issues related to eCATT and BC sets.
Consult Documentation:
- Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for guidance on configuring BC sets and using eCATT effectively.
Testing:
- After making the necessary changes, re-run the eCATT test to verify that the issue has been resolved.
