Message type: E = Error
Message class: EC - Development environment: Menu Painter
Message number: 297
Message text: Only menu texts and function texts can be changed
You can only use the function <LS>Change text type</> on menu texts or
function texts.
Changing the text type of menu texts means converting a static menu
text created in the Menu Painter to a dynamic menu text.
Dynamic menu texts are determined only at runtime.
To do this, you must specify an ABAP/4 or a Dictionary field name which
can accept the text at runtime. The dynamic menu text or function text
is then determined before you display a screen or list - regardless of
how you set the PF-STATUS. Data transport occurs in exactly the same
way as for data transport with screen fields.
Changing the text type with functions means converting the function
text to a dynamic text or an icon. Dynamic function texts behave like
dynamic menu texts.
Icons are displayed only in the application toolbar, with or without
text. A text appears in the mouse key menu only if you hold the mouse
button down while pointing to the icon.
Icons and dynamic texts can also be changed back again.
The function is not executed.
Place the cursor on a menu or function.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
