  • What causes this issue?

The maintenance language in the source and target programs is not the
same. When copying to the target program, the translations of source
program texts are copied as well. Here, the texts defined in the
interface of the program to be copied do not all exist in the target
language. Therefore, the copy still contains texts in the language of
    the source program.

    System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    How to fix this error?

The best way to change the texts in the copy is from the menu list or
function list. To do this, select <LS>Goto</> and then either <LS>Menu
    list</> or <LS>Function list</>.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message EC048 - The texts were not completely translated and have thus been mixed ?

The SAP error message EC048 indicates that there is an issue with the translation of texts in the system. Specifically, it means that the texts for certain objects (like materials, documents, or other entities) have not been fully translated into the required language, leading to a mix of languages in the user interface or reports.

    Cause:

    1. Incomplete Translations: The primary cause of this error is that some texts have not been translated into the target language. This can happen if the translation process was not completed or if certain texts were missed.
    2. Language Settings: The user’s language settings may not match the available translations in the system.
    3. Transport Issues: If translations were transported from one system to another (e.g., from development to production), some translations may not have been included in the transport request.

    Solution:

    1. Check Translation Status:

      • Use transaction code SE63 (Translation) to check the status of translations for the relevant objects. You can see which texts are missing translations.
    2. Complete Missing Translations:

      • If you identify missing translations, you can add them using transaction SE63 or through the relevant application where the texts are defined.
      • Ensure that all necessary texts are translated into the required languages.
    3. Review Language Settings:

      • Check the user’s language settings in their profile. Ensure that the language set is one for which translations are available.
      • You can check this in transaction SU01 (User Maintenance) under the "Defaults" tab.
    4. Transport Requests:

      • If the issue arose after a transport, verify that the transport request included all necessary translation objects. You may need to re-transport or manually add missing translations.
    5. Use Report RS_LANGU:

      • You can run the report RS_LANGU to check for inconsistencies in translations across different languages.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes:

      • SE63: Translation tool for managing translations.
      • SU01: User maintenance to check user settings.
      • SE11: Data dictionary to check the definitions of objects.
    • Documentation: Refer to SAP Help documentation for more details on managing translations and language settings.
