  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message DRF_OUTBOUND056 - Filter &3 for outbound implementation &2 in repl. model &1 is deactivated ?

The SAP error message DRF_OUTBOUND056 indicates that a specific filter for an outbound implementation in a replication model is deactivated. This error typically occurs in the context of SAP's Data Replication Framework (DRF), which is used for replicating data between different systems, such as between SAP S/4HANA and SAP BW or other SAP systems.

    Cause:

The error message is triggered when:

    1. A filter defined for the outbound implementation (identified by &2) in the replication model (identified by &1) is not active or has been deactivated.
    2. The system is trying to execute a replication process that relies on this filter, but since it is deactivated, the process cannot proceed.

    Solution:

To resolve this error, you can follow these steps:

    1. Check the Replication Model:

      • Go to the transaction code DRFOUT (or use the relevant menu path) to access the Data Replication Framework.
      • Locate the replication model identified by &1 in the error message.
    2. Review the Outbound Implementation:

      • Within the replication model, check the outbound implementation identified by &2.
      • Ensure that the implementation is correctly configured and active.
    3. Activate the Filter:

      • Look for the filter identified by &3 in the outbound implementation.
      • If the filter is deactivated, activate it. This can usually be done by selecting the filter and choosing the option to activate it.
    4. Test the Configuration:

      • After activating the filter, test the replication process to ensure that it works as expected without triggering the error.
    5. Check for Dependencies:

      • Ensure that there are no other dependencies or configurations that might affect the filter or the outbound implementation.
    6. Consult Documentation:

      • If you are unsure about the specific filter or its purpose, refer to the SAP documentation or consult with your SAP functional team for more context.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with relevant transaction codes such as DRFOUT for managing replication models and DRFIMG for configuration settings.
    • SAP Notes: Check SAP Notes for any known issues or updates related to the Data Replication Framework that might provide additional insights or solutions.
    • Authorization: Ensure that you have the necessary authorizations to make changes to the replication model and filters.

By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the DRF_OUTBOUND056 error and ensure that your data replication processes function correctly.
