How To Fix DPR_PARTICIPANT022 - Role type cannot be changed to &2 from &1: Reason &3

SAP Error Message - Details

  • Message type: E = Error

  • Message class: DPR_PARTICIPANT - Roles: Messages

  • Message number: 022

  • Message text: Role type cannot be changed to &2 from &1: Reason &3

  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

The role type &V1& of the current role cannot be changed to &V2&.
    Possible reasons are:
The new role type does not allow the staffed resources to be edited in
parallel. However, multiple resources were assigned to the role
    simultaneously.
The <DS:DE.PRP_EXTENDED_STAFFING>staffing type</> of the original role
type does not allow any changes to be made in its current status. For
example, the staffing type <LS>by Resource Manager via Responsible
Organization</> cannot be changed if the staffing status <LS>Staffing in
    Process</> or <LS>Staffing Complete</> is active.
The new role type does not allow the total demand to be distributed.
However, demand has already been distributed for the role or for a
    staffing.
<LS>Distribution</> is active for the new role type. However, the total
demand or assigned effort has been entered for at least one role or
    staffing.
The new role type defines the external staffing type 'by Resource
Manager via Responsible Organization' or 'by Resource Manager via
Authorization' and resources have already been assigned to the role on
the 'Staffing' tab page. However, in a template this is only permitted
for roles with the internal staffing type 'by Project Lead'.
