Message text: No conversion necessary in dependent tables
The current change to the domain does not cause a conversion
(activation and adjustment on the database) for dependent tables or the
domain is not used in tables or the domain was not changed.
The following changes to a domain can cause a conversion for dependent
tables:
- data type
- number of places
- number of decimal places.
Dependent tables are the tables which contain a field to which the
domain is assigned. The database system on which it is based, the
attributes of the corresponding table field and whether the table
contains data on the database determine whether the change results in a
conversion.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

DO121
- No conversion necessary in dependent tables ?The SAP error message DO121, which states "No conversion necessary in dependent tables," typically occurs during data migration or when performing operations that involve dependent tables in the SAP system. This error indicates that the system has detected that there is no need for a conversion process for the specified dependent tables, which can happen in various scenarios, such as during data uploads, migrations, or when executing certain transactions.
Cause:
- Data Consistency: The error may arise when the system checks for data consistency and finds that the data in the dependent tables is already in the required format or state, meaning no conversion is needed.
- Configuration Issues: There may be configuration settings that prevent the conversion from being executed, or the dependent tables may not be set up correctly.
- Incorrect Data: If the data being processed does not require conversion, the system will trigger this message to indicate that the operation is unnecessary.
- Version Compatibility: Sometimes, the error can occur due to compatibility issues between different versions of SAP or between different components of the system.
Solution:
- Check Data Requirements: Review the data in the dependent tables to ensure that it meets the requirements for the operation you are trying to perform. If the data is already in the correct format, no action may be needed.
- Review Configuration: Check the configuration settings related to the dependent tables and ensure that they are set up correctly for the operation you are attempting.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or notes related to the specific transaction or operation you are performing to understand the expected behavior and any prerequisites.
- Data Migration Tools: If you are using data migration tools (like LSMW or SAP Data Services), ensure that the mapping and transformation rules are correctly defined.
