DNO234
- A new 7.1 job is running or planned, hence termination, see also SM37 ?The SAP error message DNO234 indicates that a new job for a specific process (in this case, a 7.1 job) is either currently running or has been planned, which prevents the execution of another job of the same type. This is a common issue in SAP systems when multiple jobs are scheduled to run concurrently, leading to conflicts.
Cause:
- Job Overlap: The error typically occurs when a job that is supposed to run is already in progress or has been scheduled to run at the same time.
- Job Scheduling Conflicts: If the job is set to run at specific intervals and overlaps with another job, this error can occur.
- System Configuration: There may be system settings that restrict the number of concurrent jobs of a certain type.
Solution:
Check Job Status: Use transaction code SM37 to check the status of the jobs. Look for any jobs that are currently running or scheduled that may conflict with the job you are trying to execute.
- Filter by user, job name, and status (e.g., "active" or "scheduled").
Terminate or Reschedule Jobs: If you find that a job is currently running and you need to run your job immediately, you may need to terminate the running job (if appropriate) or reschedule your job to a later time.
- To terminate a job, select the job in SM37 and choose the option to cancel it.
Adjust Job Scheduling: If the jobs are scheduled to run at overlapping times, consider adjusting the scheduling of one or both jobs to avoid conflicts.
- You can do this in transaction SM36 where you can modify the job's start time or frequency.
Review Job Dependencies: If your job has dependencies on other jobs, ensure that those jobs have completed successfully before your job is scheduled to run.
Consult Documentation: If the issue persists, consult SAP documentation or your system administrator for further insights into job management and scheduling in your specific SAP environment.
Related Information:
Transaction Codes:
SAP Notes: Check for any relevant SAP Notes that may address specific issues related to job scheduling and conflicts.
System Configuration: Review system settings related to job management, which may include parameters that limit the number of concurrent jobs.
By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the DNO234 error and manage your SAP jobs effectively.
