  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message DB6PM474 - Alerts in the system landscape view do not originate from the MAI ?

The SAP error message DB6PM474 indicates that there are alerts in the system landscape view that do not originate from the Monitoring and Alerting Infrastructure (MAI). This can occur in environments where multiple monitoring tools or systems are integrated, and alerts are generated from sources other than the MAI.

    Cause:

    1. Integration with Other Monitoring Tools: The system landscape may be integrated with other monitoring tools that generate alerts independently of the MAI.
    2. Configuration Issues: There may be misconfigurations in the MAI setup or in the way alerts are being routed or displayed.
    3. Data Consistency Issues: Alerts may be generated from outdated or inconsistent data sources that are not aligned with the MAI.

    Solution:

    1. Check Configuration: Review the configuration of the MAI and ensure that it is set up correctly to capture and display alerts from all relevant sources.
    2. Review Alert Sources: Identify the sources of the alerts that are not originating from the MAI. This may involve checking other monitoring tools or systems that are integrated into your landscape.
    3. Update or Reconfigure Monitoring Tools: If other monitoring tools are generating alerts, consider updating their configurations to ensure they align with the MAI or consolidate monitoring to a single tool if possible.
    4. Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation for MAI and system landscape management to ensure best practices are being followed.
    5. System Landscape Review: Conduct a review of the system landscape to ensure that all systems are correctly configured and that there are no orphaned or misconfigured systems that could be generating alerts.
