  • What causes this issue?

The request &V2& is entered as a predecessor of the released request
&V1&. You cannot remove this relationship because it has been released
    and transported with request &V1&.
If you now delete the reverse relationship (which declares request &V2&
as a predecessor of request &V1&) you risk importing the older versions
of objects contained in both requests (versions released with request
&V1&) into the target system, and not the newest versions.

    System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    How to fix this error?

If in doubt, make sure that both requests are imported together.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message CTSPRJ089 - Incorrect import order; see the long text ?

The SAP error message CTSPRJ089, which indicates "Incorrect import order; see the long text," typically arises during the import of transport requests in the SAP system. This error suggests that the transport requests are not being imported in the correct sequence, which can lead to inconsistencies or dependencies not being met.

    Cause:

    1. Dependency Issues: The transport requests may have dependencies on other requests that have not yet been imported. For example, a request that contains a new program may depend on a previous request that contains a related configuration or data dictionary object.
    2. Incorrect Sequence: The transport requests are being imported in an order that does not respect the dependencies between them.
    3. Manual Import: If transport requests are imported manually, it is easy to overlook the correct order.

    Solution:

    1. Check Dependencies: Review the transport requests and their dependencies. You can use transaction code SE01 (Transport Organizer) or SE09 (Workbench Organizer) to analyze the transport requests and see which requests depend on others.
    2. Import in Correct Order: Ensure that you import the transport requests in the correct order. Start with the requests that do not have dependencies and then proceed to those that do.
    3. Use Transport Management System (TMS): If possible, use the Transport Management System to manage and import transport requests. TMS can help automate the process and ensure that requests are imported in the correct order.
    4. Check Long Text: As the error message suggests, check the long text associated with the error for more specific details about which requests are causing the issue and what the correct order should be.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with transaction codes like SE01, SE09, SE10, and STMS for managing transport requests.
    • Transport Logs: Review transport logs for additional details on the error and to identify which requests are causing the issue.
    • Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for more information on transport management and handling transport errors.

By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the CTSPRJ089 error and successfully import your transport requests.

SAP messages fall into 3 different categories: Error messages (message type = E), Warnings (W) or Informational (I) messages.

An error message will prevent you from continuing your work - it is a hard stop and you need to fix the error before you can proceed. A warning message will stop your work, however, you can then bypass the warning by pressing the Enter key on your keyboard. That said, it is still good practice to investigate the cause of the warning message and address it. An information message will not stop your work and is truly just for informational purposes.
