Message class: CSM_VMC - Messages for VM Container Monitoring
Message number: 039
Message text: Memory Availability for Individual VMs
The memory state of each active VM is continuously monitored. The value
of this attribute indicates whether the memory in individual VMs could
become too low.
This is a status attribute to warn you if the memory is becoming too low
in individual VMs in the pool of active VMs. If the attribute status is
"yellow", the memory usage of individual VMs has exceeded the defined
Java heap by 75%. If its status is "red", the memory usage of all VMs
has exceeded 90% of the defined Java heap.
You can find more information about the memory classes in the VM
Container in the online documentation under

Container</>.

CSM_VMC039
- Memory Availability for Individual VMs ?The SAP error message CSM_VMC039, which pertains to "Memory Availability for Individual VMs," typically indicates that there is an issue with the memory allocation for virtual machines (VMs) in your SAP environment. This error can arise in various scenarios, particularly in cloud or virtualized environments where resources are dynamically allocated.
Cause:
- Insufficient Memory Allocation: The VMs may not have enough memory allocated to them based on the requirements of the SAP applications running on them.
- Resource Contention: Other VMs or applications running on the same host may be consuming excessive memory, leading to insufficient memory availability for the SAP VMs.
- Configuration Issues: Incorrect configuration settings in the virtualization platform or SAP landscape can lead to memory allocation problems.
- Memory Limits: There may be hard limits set on the memory that can be allocated to VMs, which can restrict the amount of memory available for SAP applications.
Solution:
- Increase Memory Allocation: Review the memory requirements for your SAP applications and increase the memory allocated to the affected VMs accordingly.
- Optimize Resource Usage: Check for other VMs or applications that may be consuming excessive memory and optimize their usage. This may involve shutting down unnecessary VMs or redistributing workloads.
- Review Configuration Settings: Ensure that the configuration settings for the virtualization platform (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) are correctly set to allow for adequate memory allocation.
- Monitor Memory Usage: Use monitoring tools to keep track of memory usage across your VMs. This can help identify trends and potential issues before they lead to errors.
- Adjust Memory Limits: If there are hard limits set on memory allocation, consider adjusting these limits to allow for more flexibility in resource allocation.
