  • Show details Hide details
  • <LS>&CAUSE&</>
In the process instruction, a condition is defined that is used to
automatically execute an action (for example, <LS>Deactivate process
    instruction</>) in the <DS:GLOS.3526C51EAFAB52B9E10000009B38F974>PI
    sheet</> or <DS:GLOS.389B9DAA500F0E7CE10000009B38F931>manufacturing
    cockpit</>.
An action was assigned as the value to characteristic PPPI_COMMAND or
PPPI_EVENT that refers to a process instruction (for example, <LS>Lock
process instruction</>). However, this is not possible since the
process data request is of the type
    <DS:GLOS.3526C502AFAB52B9E10000009B38F974>repeated process data request
</>. In this case, the type of the process data request
    (PPPI_DATA_REQUEST) must be <LS>simple data request</>.

    Cause:

This error generally arises when you attempt to use a process instruction (like a data transfer or transformation) in a context where it is not allowed. Specifically, it indicates that the process instruction is being used in a complex data request rather than a simple one. Simple data requests are those that do not involve complex transformations or multiple data sources.

    Solution:

To resolve this error, consider the following steps:

    1. Check the Data Request Type: Ensure that you are using a simple data request. If your process instruction is intended for a simple data request, verify that the request is indeed simple and does not involve complex logic or multiple data sources.

    2. Modify the Process Chain: If you are working within a process chain, review the structure of the chain. You may need to adjust the sequence or the type of data requests being used. Ensure that process instructions are only applied where they are permitted.

    3. Review Process Instructions: If you are using a specific process instruction, check the documentation or guidelines for that instruction to confirm its intended use. Some instructions may have restrictions on where they can be applied.

    4. Consult SAP Documentation: Refer to the official SAP documentation or help resources for more detailed information on the specific process instruction and its limitations.

    5. Testing: After making adjustments, test the data request again to see if the error persists.

    6. Seek Help from SAP Support: If you are unable to resolve the issue, consider reaching out to SAP support or consulting with a colleague who has experience with SAP BW or the specific module you are working with.

    Related Information:

    • SAP BW/BI Documentation: Look for specific documentation related to process chains and data requests in SAP BW/BI.
    • SAP Community Forums: Engage with the SAP community forums where other users may have encountered similar issues and can provide insights or solutions.
    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with relevant transaction codes (like RSA1 for Data Warehousing Workbench) that can help you navigate and troubleshoot your data requests.
