COWIPB202
- WIP batch &1 cannot be deleted (because copied from other WIP batch) ?The SAP error message COWIPB202 indicates that a Work in Progress (WIP) batch cannot be deleted because it was copied from another WIP batch. This typically occurs in the context of production orders or WIP management in SAP, where batches are used to track the progress of production.
Cause:
- Batch Dependency: The WIP batch you are trying to delete has dependencies on another WIP batch. This means that it was created as a copy of another batch, and SAP prevents the deletion to maintain data integrity.
- Data Integrity: SAP enforces rules to ensure that related data remains consistent. Deleting a batch that has been copied from another could lead to inconsistencies in the production data.
Solution:
- Identify the Source Batch: Determine which WIP batch the current batch was copied from. You can usually find this information in the batch details or by checking the production order history.
- Delete the Source Batch: If you need to delete the WIP batch, you may first need to delete the source batch. However, ensure that this action does not violate any business processes or data integrity rules.
- Use Alternative Methods: If deletion is not possible, consider other options such as:
- Marking the batch as inactive if your business process allows it.
- Adjusting the WIP status or transferring the WIP to another batch if applicable.
- Consult Documentation: Review SAP documentation or consult with your SAP support team for specific procedures related to WIP management in your organization.
- Check Authorizations: Ensure that you have the necessary authorizations to perform deletion or modifications on WIP batches.
