COWIPB147
- WIP batch not at highest level; will not be deleted ?The SAP error message COWIPB147 indicates that a Work in Progress (WIP) batch cannot be deleted because it is not at the highest level in the production order hierarchy. This typically occurs in the context of production orders and WIP accounting, where certain conditions must be met for a batch to be deleted.
Cause:
- Batch Hierarchy: The batch you are trying to delete is part of a hierarchy where there are other dependent batches or components that are at a higher level. In SAP, WIP batches are often structured in a parent-child relationship, and you can only delete a batch if it is at the highest level (i.e., it has no dependent batches).
- Open Production Orders: If there are open production orders that reference the WIP batch, it cannot be deleted.
- Accounting Entries: If there are accounting entries related to the WIP batch, it may prevent deletion.
Solution:
- Check Batch Hierarchy: Use transaction codes like CO03 (Display Production Order) to check the hierarchy of the batches. Ensure that the batch you want to delete is indeed at the highest level.
- Close Dependent Orders: If there are dependent production orders or components, you may need to close or settle those orders before attempting to delete the WIP batch.
- Clear Accounting Entries: If there are accounting entries associated with the WIP batch, you may need to reverse or clear those entries before deletion.
- Use Transaction COHV: You can use transaction COHV (Mass Processing of Production Orders) to manage and settle production orders in bulk, which may help in resolving the issue.
- Consult Documentation: Review SAP documentation or consult with your SAP support team for specific steps related to your configuration and version of SAP.
