COCORE203
- Company code & is not assigned to controlling area & ?The SAP error message COCORE203 indicates that a company code is not assigned to a controlling area. This is a common issue in SAP when trying to perform controlling-related transactions, such as creating cost centers, internal orders, or other controlling objects.
Cause:
The error occurs because the system requires a company code to be linked to a controlling area to ensure that financial and controlling data can be properly integrated and reported. If the company code is not assigned to any controlling area, the system cannot process controlling transactions for that company code.
Solution:
To resolve this error, you need to assign the company code to a controlling area. Here are the steps to do this:

- Go to the SAP Easy Access screen.
- Navigate to the following path:
SPRO -> SAP Reference IMG -> Controlling -> General Controlling -> Organization -> Assign Company Code to Controlling Area
Assign the Company Code:
- In the "Assign Company Code to Controlling Area" screen, you will see a list of controlling areas and company codes.
- Select the appropriate controlling area to which you want to assign the company code.
- Click on the "New Entries" button to add a new assignment.
- Enter the company code and the controlling area.
- Save your changes.
Check for Existing Assignments:
- Ensure that the company code is not already assigned to another controlling area, as a company code can only be assigned to one controlling area at a time.
