Message class: CO - PPC order processing messages
Message number: 674
Message text: Invalid unit of measure for component & (see long text)
The component &V1& plant &V2& cannot be copied because its unit of
measure (&V3&) cannot be converted to the unit of measure (&V4&).
If the unit of measure used corresponds neither to the base unit of
measure not to the unit of issue then the system calculates a conversion
ratio between the unit of measure of the component and its base unit of
measure. If this ratio is too large then the component cannot be copied.
The component is not copied to the production order.
You should change the unit of measure.

CO674
- Invalid unit of measure for component & (see long text) ?The SAP error message CO674 "Invalid unit of measure for component & (see long text)" typically occurs in the context of production planning and control, particularly when dealing with bills of materials (BOMs) or production orders. This error indicates that the unit of measure (UoM) specified for a component in a BOM or production order is not valid or does not match the expected UoM defined in the system.
Causes:
- Incorrect Unit of Measure: The unit of measure assigned to the component in the BOM or production order does not match the unit of measure defined in the material master for that component.
- Missing UoM Configuration: The unit of measure may not be defined in the system for the specific material.
- Data Inconsistency: There may be inconsistencies in the data between the BOM, material master, and production order.
- Unit of Measure Conversion Issues: If there are conversion factors defined, they may not be set up correctly, leading to invalid UoM usage.
Solutions:
Check Material Master: Verify the unit of measure defined in the material master for the component. Ensure that it is correctly set up and matches the UoM used in the BOM or production order.
- Transaction Code:
MM03
(Display Material)Review BOM: Check the BOM for the component in question to ensure that the unit of measure is correctly specified.
- Transaction Code:

(Display BOM)Adjust UoM in BOM: If the UoM in the BOM is incorrect, you can change it to match the UoM in the material master.
- Transaction Code:
CS02
(Change BOM)Check UoM Settings: Ensure that the unit of measure is properly configured in the system. This includes checking the UoM conversion factors if applicable.
- Transaction Code:
OMN1
(Maintain Units of Measure)Recreate BOM: If the BOM is corrupted or has inconsistencies, consider recreating it to ensure all components and their UoMs are correctly defined.
