Message class: CNV_PE_GEN - Messages for object generation
Message number: 086
Message text: Data model content not required; storage already inactive for area &2
In the transformation rules of the transfer method &V1&, no data model
parameter of type table is present as input parameter in the signature.
Then for this transfer method - during the build up of the transfer list
- it is not required to import the data model content of each worklist
item from database table CNV_PE_CLU.
To make the data model content available at all for import it must be
stored in table CNV_PE_CLU during the creation of the worklist. This is
indicated by the <ZK>Store Data Model </>indicator on area level. This
storage is not required as potentially stored data is not imported
anyway into any TRule of the transfer method.
The <ZK>Store Data Model</> indicator is already inactive in transfer
method &V2&.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

- Data model content not required; storage already inactive for area &2 ?The SAP error message CNV_PE_GEN086 indicates that the data model content is not required because the storage for the specified area is already inactive. This message typically arises during data migration or conversion processes, particularly when using SAP's Conversion Tools or Data Migration tools.
Cause:
- Inactive Storage: The error suggests that the data model content for a specific area (denoted by &2) is not needed because the storage for that area has already been set to inactive. This could happen if the data model was previously processed, and the relevant data area was deactivated.
- Configuration Issues: There may be a misconfiguration in the data migration settings or the data model itself, leading to an attempt to process data that is no longer relevant.
- Redundant Processing: The system might be trying to process data that has already been handled in a previous step, leading to redundancy.
Solution:
- Check Data Model Configuration: Review the configuration of the data model to ensure that it is set up correctly and that the areas you are trying to process are indeed active.
- Review Migration Steps: Go through the migration steps to confirm that the area in question has not already been processed or marked as inactive. If it has, you may need to skip this step in your migration process.
- Adjust Migration Parameters: If the area is not needed, adjust your migration parameters to exclude it from the current processing.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to the SAP documentation or notes related to the specific migration tool you are using for any additional guidance or troubleshooting steps.
- Contact SAP Support: If the issue persists and you cannot determine the cause, consider reaching out to SAP support for assistance. They may provide insights specific to your system configuration or the version of the migration tool you are using.
