The decision transformation rule requires certain importing parameters.
These importing parameter are derived by the importing parameter of the
transformation rules of the RELV_IDENT entries.
The name of each importing parameter of a decision transformation rule
    must be unique.
However, during the derivation of the required importing parameters of
the decision transformation rule the program found that the importing
parameter &V1& must be present with technical type &V2& and also with

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message CNV_PE_GEN056 - Importing parameter &1 used in several TRules with different types ?

The SAP error message CNV_PE_GEN056 indicates that there is an issue with the importing parameter &1 being used in multiple Transformation Rules (TRules) with different data types. This typically occurs during data migration or transformation processes, particularly when using SAP's Data Migration tools or the SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit.

    Cause:

    The error arises when:

    • The same importing parameter is defined in multiple TRules, but with different data types (e.g., one TRule might define it as a string while another defines it as an integer).
    • This inconsistency can lead to confusion during the execution of the transformation rules, as the system cannot determine which data type to use for the parameter.

    Solution:

To resolve this error, you can take the following steps:

    1. Identify the TRules: Check the TRules that are using the importing parameter &1. You can do this by reviewing the transformation rules in the relevant migration project.

    2. Standardize Data Types: Ensure that the importing parameter is consistently defined across all TRules. This means:

      • If one TRule uses the parameter as a string, all other TRules should also use it as a string.
      • If necessary, modify the TRules to ensure they all use the same data type for the parameter.
    3. Test the Changes: After making the necessary adjustments, test the transformation process again to ensure that the error is resolved.

    4. Documentation: Document the changes made to the TRules for future reference and to avoid similar issues in the future.

    Related Information:

    • Migration Cockpit: If you are using the SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit, familiarize yourself with the data types and structures expected for each importing parameter.
    • Transformation Rules: Review the documentation on how to create and manage TRules effectively to avoid conflicts in parameter definitions.
    • SAP Notes: Check for any relevant SAP Notes or updates that might address this specific error or provide additional guidance.

By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the CNV_PE_GEN056 error and ensure that your data migration process runs smoothly.
