Message text: Extension TRule ANLA_AFABE_VAL returns empty result
The <DS:TX.CNV_PE_TX_EXTENSION_RULE>extension rule</> ANLA_AFABE_VAL_W,
that is assigned to datamodel
<DS:TX.CNV_PE_TX_EXTENSION_TABLE>extension table</> ANLA_AFABE_VAL_W
is called but returns an empty result.
The extension rule allows the determined asset values to be modified
according to your needs.
Warning. The enrichment was successfully executed, however it makes no
sense to call the extension rule for the current asset.
The extension rule ANLA_AFABE_VAL_W is called within the enrichment
process right after the asset values of the given asset are determined
in the sender system (using the RFC call of function module
CNV_PE_POST_FIAA_RETIRE in test mode) and prior to writing these values
to the extension table.
The extension rule receives these originally determined asset values,
however <ZH>no</> asset values are returned as result
If no result is returned from the extension rule, the original
determined asset values (as of function module CNV_PE_POST_FIAA_RETIRE)
are used and the extension table is populated with this data.
Check the correctness of the extension rule.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

- Extension TRule ANLA_AFABE_VAL returns empty result ?The SAP error message "CNV_PE587 Extension TRule ANLA_AFABE_VAL returns empty result" typically occurs during data migration or transformation processes, particularly when using the SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit or similar tools. This error indicates that a transformation rule (TRule) related to asset accounting (ANLA) is not returning any results, which can halt the migration process.
Causes:
- Missing Data: The source data may not contain the necessary information for the transformation rule to produce a result. This could be due to incomplete or incorrect data in the source system.
- Configuration Issues: The transformation rules may not be properly configured or may not align with the data structure of the source system.
- Mapping Errors: There may be issues with how the fields are mapped between the source and target systems, leading to empty results.
- Data Type Mismatches: If the data types in the source do not match the expected types in the target, the transformation may fail to produce results.
- Business Logic Errors: The logic defined in the transformation rule may not be applicable to the data being processed.
Solutions:
- Check Source Data: Verify that the source data contains all the necessary fields and values required by the transformation rule. Ensure that there are no missing or null values that could lead to empty results.
- Review Transformation Rules: Examine the transformation rules in the migration cockpit or relevant tool. Ensure that they are correctly configured and that the logic aligns with the data being migrated.
- Adjust Mapping: If there are mapping errors, adjust the field mappings to ensure that they correctly correspond to the source and target fields.
- Data Type Validation: Ensure that the data types in the source system match the expected data types in the target system. If there are mismatches, consider converting the data types as needed.
- Test with Sample Data: Run tests with a smaller subset of data to isolate the issue. This can help identify whether the problem is with specific records or a broader issue with the transformation logic.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or notes related to the specific transformation rules and migration processes for additional guidance and troubleshooting steps.
