Message class: CNV_DMC_SIN - Messages for s-innovations migration
Message number: 480
Message text: Duplicate record - initial ledger group already exists for this record
In migration template exist records with same key field combinations but
with different ledger group. One of those records contains an empty
ledger group. Posting to an empty ledger group will already post to all
ledgers automatically. Posting on specific ledger group at same time
will cause duplicate records.
Records with specific ledger will be skipped in data migration if same
records with empty ledger group are also provided via migration
template. Doing this, duplicate records in the same ledger won't be
posted.
Check related records in migration template:
If you want to post the record automatically into all ledgers just keep
the record with empty ledger group. Delete the records with specific
ledger group.
If you want to post only into specific ledger, delete the record with
the empty ledger group.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

This typically occurs when you are trying to load financial data into the system, and the system detects that the same initial ledger group has already been created for the same record.
Cause:

- Incorrect Mapping: If the mapping of the source data to the target structure is not done correctly, it may lead to the creation of duplicate records.
- Data Migration Process: During the data migration process, if the same data is processed multiple times without proper checks, it can lead to duplicates.
Solution:
- Check Source Data: Review the source data for duplicates. Ensure that there are no duplicate entries for the initial ledger group in the data you are trying to import.
- Data Cleansing: If duplicates are found, clean the data by removing or consolidating duplicate records before attempting the migration again.
- Adjust Mapping: Verify the mapping of the data fields to ensure that they are correctly aligned with the target structure. Make adjustments as necessary to prevent duplicates.
- Use Unique Identifiers: If applicable, ensure that each record has a unique identifier to prevent duplicates from being created during the migration process.
- Test Migration: Before performing a full migration, conduct a test migration with a smaller dataset to identify any potential issues, including duplicates.
